Alison Hammond shocked by major death spoiler on This Morning
This Morning presenter Alison Hammond was left stunned after her co-star dropped a major death spoiler during Friday’s episode of the ITV daytime programme.
During the show, Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary spoke to US reporter Andrew who shared the latest showbiz news, including updates on the upcoming Bridget Jones film. Andrew revealed that Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant would be reprising their roles, but dropped a bombshell by announcing that Colin Firth’s character, Mark Darcy, would be killed off in the upcoming movie.
Alison couldn’t believe what she was hearing and expressed her shock by placing her hand on her chest. She admitted she hadn’t read the books and was surprised by the news. Dermot tried to reassure her by suggesting that the character might not actually be dead in the film, but Alison pointed out that his absence from the cast list indicated otherwise.
The awkwardness continued later in the show when Alison made a comment about a contestant on The Apprentice, Phil Turner, and his losing streak on the show. Phil didn’t seem too pleased with the remark, but Alison quickly tried to turn it around by praising his resilience and ability to bounce back from setbacks.
Despite the uncomfortable moments, the episode provided plenty of entertainment for viewers as Alison and Dermot navigated through unexpected twists and turns in their conversations with guests.
