Recycling International Bids Farewell to Judith Wanjala as She Joins EERA
October 1, 2023 – In a heartfelt send-off, Recycling International celebrates the contributions of Judith Wanjala, who is set to embark on a new journey as the policy, communications, and members’ officer for the European Electronics Recyclers Association (EERA).
Judith, who has been a cornerstone of Recycling International since 2017, has built invaluable relationships with clients and stakeholders across the globe. Her vibrant energy, keen sense of humor, and unwavering professionalism have made her a beloved figure at industry events, where she has consistently fostered collaboration and innovation.
Born and raised in Kenya, Judith’s journey took her to the Netherlands nearly 30 years ago. Fluent in Swahili, Dutch, English, and proficient in German, her international perspective has enriched the magazine’s global outlook and facilitated connections among experts from various continents. Her academic credentials are equally impressive; two years ago, she completed a master’s degree in sustainable supply chain and logistics at Osnabrück Business School in Germany, further enhancing her understanding of the global value chain.
Reflecting on her time at Recycling International, Judith expressed her gratitude: “It has been an honor to share stories from the recycling world and to work alongside so many dedicated people. I am eager to keep learning and excited to continue contributing to the industry in my new EERA role. I will always value the friendships and trust built through Recycling International.”
Martijn Reintjes, chief editor of Recycling International, shared his sentiments: “The entire team will miss Judith’s vibrant spirit and industry know-how. We wish her every success as she brings her passion and expertise to Europe’s electronics recyclers.”
As Judith transitions to her new role, Recycling International welcomes Bert Brassée as the new sales manager. With 25 years of experience in B2B publishing, including 15 years in the metals industry across Germany, the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands, Bert is poised to make a significant impact. He is eager to expand his global network and looks forward to engaging with recyclers and tech providers at the upcoming Pollutec expo in Lyon.
“I realize I have some big shoes to fill and I look forward to meeting recyclers and tech providers at the upcoming Pollutec expo in Lyon in October,” Bert stated.
As Recycling International turns the page, the legacy of Judith Wanjala will undoubtedly inspire continued growth and innovation within the recycling industry.
