Epstein Survivors Call on Congress to Unveil DoJ Records

Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s Abuse Demand Justice Outside U.S. Capitol

Washington, D.C. – A powerful gathering of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse took place outside the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday morning, as they called for justice, accountability, and the release of crucial Justice Department files related to the late convicted sex offender. The event coincided with a pivotal House vote on a bill aimed at unearthing the hidden records surrounding Epstein’s notorious crimes.

Haley Robson, one of the survivors, emphasized the urgency of the issue, stating, “It’s time that we put the political agendas and party affiliations to the side. This is a human issue; this is about children. There is no place in society for sexual exploitation or crimes against women.”

The survivors’ rally came just hours before the House was set to vote on a measure that has garnered bipartisan support, aiming to compel the release of documents tied to Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges of sex-trafficking minors.

Wendy Avis, who met Epstein at the age of 14, expressed her frustration with the political landscape surrounding their trauma. “We are exhausted from surviving the trauma and then surviving the politics that swirl around it,” she said. “I am asking Congress, please pass the bill, please release the records, stop making survivors fight alone for the truth.”

The bill is expected to pass, especially after former President Donald Trump reversed his previous stance and urged Republican lawmakers to support the measure. This unexpected shift came just days after he had resisted the release of the files.

In an interview with CBS, Democratic Representative Ro Khanna, who is leading the bipartisan push, expressed surprise at Trump’s change of heart. “This is one of the most horrific and disgusting corruption scandals in our country’s history,” Khanna stated. “Because survivors spoke up, because of their courage, the truth is finally going to come out.”

Republican Representative Thomas Massie, who co-led the effort, urged the Senate to ensure the bill’s passage without obstruction. “If you do anything that prevents any disclosure, you are not for the people,” he warned.

The event also featured support from Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Trump ally who has been vocal about the need for transparency regarding Epstein’s files. “These women have fought the most horrific fight that no woman should have to fight,” Greene said, highlighting the resilience of the survivors.

Robson addressed Trump directly, acknowledging his change of position but expressing skepticism about his motives. “I am traumatized. I am not stupid,” she said, urging him to prioritize the truth over political agendas.

Another survivor, Jena-Lisa Jones, echoed Robson’s sentiments, pleading with Trump to stop politicizing the issue. “It is time to take the honest moral ground and support the release of these files,” she implored.

The Epstein case has long been a source of controversy and speculation, particularly regarding Trump’s past associations with the disgraced financier. Recent revelations, including emails suggesting Trump’s awareness of Epstein’s activities, have intensified scrutiny and calls for transparency.

As the House prepares to vote, the survivors remain hopeful that their fight for justice will finally lead to accountability and the truth about Epstein’s network of exploitation.
