The launch not only showcased her new products but also provided a heartfelt glimpse into her personal hair journey, which inspired this new venture.

In a candid speech, the 48-year-old artist shared, “You know me as a singer, a dancer, and a mother, but underneath all those layers, there’s a woman who struggles with the same challenges you all face. Especially hair.” Shakira humorously described her hair as a “real diva,” admitting, “It has a mind of its own.”

Reflecting on her past hair transformations, Shakira recounted her colorful journey: “I’ve been brunette, then blonde because I heard blondes have more fun—don’t know about that! Then I went red, back to blonde.” She also touched on the impact of motherhood on her hair, saying, “I lost a lot of hair, then I got it back.”

Frustrated with products that “didn’t deliver,” Shakira began developing Isima four years ago. The brand, she explained, is “rooted in science but also in culture and identity, especially diversity.” She emphasized her desire to create a line that celebrates women and their complexities, stating, “I wanted something with real meaning.”

Isima launched exclusively at Ulta Beauty on July 6, featuring eight products designed to address common hair issues like frizz, dryness, and damage. Shakira’s commitment to quality and authenticity shines through in this new venture, as she aims to empower women to embrace their unique beauty.

As she embarks on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, Shakira continues to inspire fans worldwide. Her next performances will take place in Los Angeles on August 5 and Fresno on August 7, before she heads to Latin America.
