Walmart to Offer Popcorn for Sale on Streaming Service

Netflix Launches “Now Popping” Popcorn Line in Partnership with Popcorn Indiana

Netflix is not just about streaming anymore – they are now getting into the popcorn business! The streaming giant has partnered with Popcorn Indiana to launch a line of popcorn under the brand name Netflix: Now Popping. The popcorn will be available at Walmart stores across the country starting today.

The flavors being launched include “Cult Classic Cheddar Kettle Corn” and “Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle Corn.” This move by Netflix follows in the footsteps of other entertainment companies like AMC Theatres, who have also ventured into the snack category.

Popcorn has become a big business for theaters, with collectible popcorn tubs like the viral Dune: Part Two container gaining popularity. Netflix has been expanding its consumer business beyond streaming, launching an online shop in 2021 and creating pop-up experiences like Netflix Bites, a restaurant in Los Angeles featuring menus curated by chefs from their shows.

Next year, Netflix will take it a step further by opening Netflix House locations in Texas and Pennsylvania, offering a combination of shopping, food, and experiences in former department store locations. Who knows, they may even sell their Now Popping popcorn at these locations!
