E3 Lithium Advances Towards Commissioning of Phase 1 Demonstration Facility in Alberta
E3 Lithium Nears Commissioning of Groundbreaking Demonstration Facility in Alberta
CALGARY, Alberta—August 12, 2025—E3 Lithium Ltd. (TSXV: ETL) is on the cusp of a significant milestone in the Canadian lithium sector as it approaches the final inspection and commissioning of Phase 1 of its Demonstration Facility. This ambitious project aims to operationalize a Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) system, paving the way for the production of high-quality lithium chloride essential for battery-grade lithium carbonate.
The company announced today that all major equipment for Phase 1 has arrived on site and is now fully assembled. Crews are diligently working to complete the supporting infrastructure, with final mechanical and electrical checks currently underway. E3 Lithium expects to finish assembling the remaining equipment within the week, followed by a thorough operational review to assess performance and identify any potential damage incurred during transportation.
“E3 Lithium has made tremendous progress in advancing the construction of our Demonstration Facility,” said Chris Doornbos, President and CEO. “I am thrilled to see our team nearing the completion of equipment assembly and preparing for commissioning in the coming weeks.”
Assuming a smooth operational review, E3 Lithium aims to begin commissioning by the end of August. This phase will kick off with the introduction of brine, which has been stored on-site for this purpose, focusing on ensuring the DLE system operates efficiently.
E3 Lithium is not just making strides in technology; it is also positioning itself as a leader in the lithium market. The company boasts a substantial resource base, with 21.2 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) in Alberta and additional resources in Saskatchewan. The Clearwater Pre-Feasibility Study has outlined a proven and probable mineral reserve of 1.13 million tonnes LCE, showcasing a robust pre-tax net present value (NPV) of USD 5.2 billion.
As the demand for lithium continues to surge, driven by the electric vehicle and renewable energy sectors, E3 Lithium’s advancements could not come at a better time. The successful commissioning of the Demonstration Facility will not only enhance the company’s production capabilities but also contribute to the growing need for sustainable lithium extraction methods.
