Heading: FX’s Alien Series Wraps Filming, Creator Noah Hawley Shares Excitement
FX’s highly anticipated Alien series, titled Alien: Earth, has officially wrapped up principal filming, according to creator Noah Hawley. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hawley shared his excitement about the project, stating, “I couldn’t be happier with the show we shot.”
The series, set to premiere next year, faced delays due to the 2023 actors strike but resumed production after new contracts were agreed upon with the unions. Alien: Earth will be set on Earth near the end of the 21st century, before the events of Ridley Scott’s iconic 1979 film Alien. Scott serves as an executive producer on the series through his company Scott Free.
Hawley revealed that the show will explore themes of humanity caught between its parasitic past and AI future, but will not be directly tied to Scott’s Alien prequel films, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. The star-studded cast includes Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, and Essie Davis, among others.
Having been involved in the project from the beginning, Hawley expressed his satisfaction with the series, emphasizing the focus on character development and themes beyond just horror and action. He eagerly awaits the audience’s reaction to the show, which he believes offers a unique take on the beloved Alien franchise.
With post-production underway and a promising cast and storyline, Alien: Earth is shaping up to be a must-watch series for fans of the sci-fi genre. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project.
